Ink absorber almost full on my PIXMA MX870is there a user remedy for this? Have seen notes (for other models) showing a procedure to wash and clean filters.is there a similar process for MX870 ?

Am running into similar issues on Pixma 870, as well as an HP Envy printer. Virtually all printing is on grayscale mode - very rarely print color.Do most Canon models use color ink to print black and gray ??TIA
