Canon MX892 wireless prints w/ Win 8.1 but will not SCAN to pc using Canon sw that makes PDF.

I just bought two windows8.1 laptops for my home/business. I use a Canon MX892 wireless printer/scanner. They print fine but WILL NOT scan to either new PC. Scan works fine on my old VISTA. I have downloaded the software (MP Navigator EX 5.1, etc...
