EOS R8 says Wi-Fi OFF

I have a Canon R8 In the viewfinder the WIFI-OFF image is shown WIFI is enabled and the camera is not in Airplane mode. I have reset wi-fi settings But the symbol still shows as wi-fi off

WI-FI off symbol visible in P mode, camera focused on a pack of A4 paper !

The Wi-FI off symbol shows in all modes (basic and creative)I have tried 'reset communication settings' but the WIFI off symbol remains
