Hello, I believe my lens is reporting "24-105mm" to my 5D mk III instead of the expected "Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM" Thus, the in-camera Lens aberration correction is not available.Also, DPP 4.19.30.0 reports Lens data: Not Available. Please not...

This forum is confusing in the order of replies.. My copy of the lens showed "24-105mm" on a different camera today.The other copy of the lens showed the correct "EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM" on my camera.

Interesting idea. I mounted the lens at 105mm with the barrel fully extended and took two photos at different focal lengths using remote shooting in DPP.They both correctly identify the focal length - but the lens is still shown as "24-105mm"

Yeah, I was thinking that too.. Bummer.Interesting that it still communicates other relevant data to the camera though.

It's a 5D Mk III and I believe this was the kit lens that was sold with it... In the EXIF data, both online readers I used reported this:
