VR-40 & VC-30 Viewing VHS tapes

I have a cannon video recorder VR-40 and a cannon VC-30 camera, and I am trying to watch old videos on the viewfinder of the camera. Can't seem to figure how are there any instruction any place to help me.ThanksBob
