Error message: Paper output slot. Paper is jammed. There is no paper jammed. How do I remove the error message?Thanks

The MP470 printer states there is jammed paper. There is no paper jam.How do I override the error message? I have tried unplugging the printer with no success.I know for a fact that there is no paper jam.
