I have a Sigma APO 170-500mm, 1:5-6.3 lens. Is it worth getting fixed?

The aperature is stuck at about 5.0. It fits both my EOS 10D and my EOS Rebel T3. Is it worth getting fixed or is my money better spent on a new lens?

I don't believe it's under warranty. I friend gave it to me and he has had it for a while. I will call and speak to them.Thanks
