SX50 HS cannot download photos to my iPad

I have had this camera for 6 years, and could always attach a cord from the camera to my iPad and move my copy my photos. It no longer works. I recharged the battery, and it still did not work Is there any way for me to fix this?

I just updated my iPad to IOS 13.3, went to the Photos app, hit Import, and it worked. The photos moved from my camera to my iPad. Thank you.
