Hello, Canon. Hi everyone, I've been a professional wedding and event photographer for 25 years, and in the last two years. I have used around six off-camera flash techniques using the six flashes mentioned above. After hundreds of weddings in the previous month, I have connection-linking issues. I read and checked every tutorial possible, and nothing helped.:( I know the menu's sub menus' custom settings, and the only flash linked for hours is the Yonguno YN686EX-RT. All of my Canon brands flash, losing connection after 5-minute. I attached two cellphone photos where you can see the problems after 5-minute. CANON or some of you guys have any idea what's going on? PLEASE HELP ME! Thank you so much.

Hi, I read it first on canonrumors but if you search for “canon el-1 firmware update“ you should find links to your local canon update site. As usual, udates are poorly described, but they do say „Wireless communication stability has been improved“.

The bad news is that both the masters and slaves suffer from the same issue as all units in a set have to receive data. I tested all possible combinations of master and slave devices from Canon, Phottix and Yongnuo and ONLY the Canon devices locked up - both the ST-E3-RT and 600EX-RT FLASHES in master and slave modes. All other RT compatible devices showed no issues at all. I reported all my tests on another thread on this forum somewhere but I can‘t find it right now.

I changed to Godox (x1t-c adapters plus various master units) and I‘m very happy with them. They also produce larger flashes if you later need more power which Canon doesn‘t even bother with. I‘ve since added 4x AD400 units to my system.
