Hi, I read it first on canonrumors but if you search for “canon el-1 firmware update“ you should find links to your local canon update site. As usual, udates are poorly described, but they do say „Wireless communication stability has been improved“.

It would appear that Canon have attempted to correct this issue on newer devices with a firmware update. I don‘t personally own any of the newer devices myself (I would never consider buying any more Canon flashes) but reports appear positive so far....
I have no experience with the Ver. 3 but it's important to note that the lockup problem is found on both the transmitters AND flash units. If Canon improved their transmitters, you would still likely have issues with the flash units locking up.The RT...
