I have a 580 EX II flash and would not work on the Canon 60D camera,

I have a 580 EX II flash and would not work on the Canon 60D camera, my 60d says "The menu cannot be displayed...Incompatible flash or flash's power is turned off."  The flash is on but the camera does not reconise it. It will not fire

The 580EX11flash works fine in the on my other canon cameras, also other flash guns works on the 60D

Any suggestions??

The 580EXII is known for poor connection due to the size and shape of the pins.  I'd try cleaning all contacts (both on the flash and the camera hotshoe with a pencil eraser then try to seat it properly on the camera...locking and wiggling the flash.  Did you try test firing the flash to eliminate possibility there's something wrong with the flash?
