Cannot pair 430 exIII rt speed light to pair with 70D

Cannot pair 430 exIII rt speed light To pair with canon 70D. Flash won’t fire wirelessly off camera .. anyone else had this problem?

The term "wireless" is unfortunate since there are two forms (optical and radio).

I'm assuming though that you're attempting to use the 70D's built-in flash to optically control the off-camera 430 unit?

Is the 430 in optical mode?  Does it have line-of-sight to the camera's flash?

There is no need to.pair. Just get everything set up correctly - follow the advice youv'e already been given.

You'll have to answer those two questions.  If the 430 is in radio mode, that's not going to work at all.  Also, if the 430 doesn't have line of sight to the 70D's flash, that's also not going to work at all.

It was advice, like your Mom saying "You are not going out in that, are you?"

Remember, we can't see your setup, so we have to ask questions to see what is going on, but those questions lead directly to what is probably the issue.
