White-faced Ibis R5 Mark II & RF200-800mm f6.3-9 IS USM
The White-faced Ibis is a medium size wading bird with a 3-foot wingspan. They can be found feeding in large flocks from just a few birds up to 10,000 birds. This one was a lone wolf that I spotted on the beach of South Lake Tahoe while on vacation. They're 23 inches in length and weigh 1.3 lbs. White-faced Ibis are found in marshes across the Western United States, Mexico, and parts of South America, including southeastern Brazil and Argentina. They typically breed in these regions and migrate south for the winter to areas like Southern California and Louisiana.
