I went through my large library of pictures to decide what I wanted to post that would be different. I found that picture from a vacation album from 2019.

I’ve found using a CPL filter really helps cut reflections on the water and boosts sky contrast during sunsets. Also shoot in RAW to pull more detail out later if needed.

The original shot was in RAW but was converted to JPEG so it could be viewed in the forum. But you can only do so much with older cameras.

Thanks @Danny this was straight out the camera no edits. The only thing that was done was it was converted from RAW to JPEG.

I took most of my sunset shots handheld too—it’s tricky but so worth it. The haze and colors remind me of a komodo boat tour I did last summer. The sunsets over the water with the scattered islands were unreal. I had to bump up the ISO a bit and underexpose slightly to keep those deep oranges. Shot everything on a 24-105mm and was surprised how sharp they came out.
