This was a recent sunrise looking east.

This is you standing in the middle.

If you turn around and look west, because the sky was so lit up with colors, this is what you saw.

Jkarl, I tried to follow all the rules of composition: keep it simple, remove distractions, tonality, color balance, proper exposure, rule of thirds, etc., etc., etc.😀
