One of the reasons I love the EF 100mm f/2.8 L IS USM is that you can put a little distance between your lens and a skittish critter and still get 1:1. Most of these were shot with a Rebel T4i and all are quite tiny.

Blue Bottle Fly. These guys eat nectar, but their larvae feed on carrion and are sometimes vital in determining the time of death at crime scenes.
