Shooting with Classic Gear

So, discussing the Canon EOS 5DMkIII in another thread got me thinking of pulling my own one out and shooting some images, using the classic EF 28-300L from 2004. It has not been heavily used (shutter count is 7100+/-).

A bit of a howitzer of a lens, being a push-pull, all metal unit, but with a very versatile range and having beautiful colour tones. I have a huge museum of digital gear, going back to 2000, and I still enjoy shooting with all of it.

I went shooting in a local reserve where some of our native birds, known as Pukeko were out and about doing their spring thing!

Looking for its mate: 300mm, f/5.6, 1/320 sec, ISO-320.

A Blasted Tree, still standing proud by the pathway: 28mm, f/9, 1/80sec, ISO-100
