Maybe not, there are rumors that there may be some thylacines around.
Devils are endangered in the wild because of a contagious tumor.

You're correct, there have been a slew of sighting reports of the Tasmanian Tiger, (thylicines). The decline of the Tasmanian devil population is primarily due to a "transmissible cancer called Devil Facial Tumour Disease (DFTD)" tassie-devils-decline-has-left-a-feast-of-carrion-for-feral cats. This disease, first discovered in the mid-1990s, spreads through biting and has caused a significant decrease in devil numbers decline. Other factors contributing to their decline include "habitat loss, roadkill, and competition with other species.
It's a tough situation for these unique creatures.
