I'm not really a great photographer so I won't mind some critiauing of these.  I caught movement out the back door.  I saw the hawk land, so I  grabbed my camera slid out the back door hoping to get all set up for a great picture before the hawk bolted.  The first picture Is his greeted of my intrustion.  The hawk took flight and I just had time to capture these, and needless to say I felt better than the Robin does in the last picture I thing.  I live in a small town in a housing addition, so this really surprised me!

Good 'capture', it's not an easy thing to get 'the' shot. From what I can see, a comment could be that an image/subject has to have room to breathe, to create context. One of the skills to acquire in Photography is about appropriately 'cropping' both in camera and as a final image. Another thought is about POV (Point of View) what if you could have gotten closer to the ground, how would that have affected the emotional component of the image. Just some food for creative thought. Take a read of the Time and Life Series on Photography; it's an out of print series of books that still contain a lot of knowledge to build skills by. Good shooting.

Good photo op. Have a bunch of photos of hawks that frequented the trees around our lot. Not as frequent as in the past. One series was a Cooper's hawk dining on a squirrel in the front yard. That is life and that is nature.
