Several years ago, I went through Mt. Hood NF to Bend, OR. Beautiful! Went from tall pines to high desert. BTW, what is that in the field in the fourth photo? Looks like a giant mushroom.

Yeah, we just moved to Goldendale recently and it's still crazy to me that the mountain is so close. It's a chainsaw sculpture of what seems to be a mushroom in that field.
