The lens i used was a 70-300mm on these Lake Superior agates. I am open to any suggestions on what I need to improve upon. Taken with Canon EOS 70D, lens 75-300mm
The first pictures settings: F-Stop -F/9, ISO -160, Exposure time - 1/400
ISO: 100, F-stop f/8, Exposure time - 1/500 sec

Your posted images look nice and sharp. There isn't much DoF because of the focal length in use and the apparently short distance to the subject. A true macro lens might capture more detail, but would likely require focus stacking to capture the entire agate in focus.
