Wow.  Great shot.  We are headed there in May.  What was your location in the park?  Sunset I presume?   I'm thinking of signing up for one of the Ansel Adams photo tour guides there when we go for fun.

That looks so cool!  You caught this at the perfect time!

We were standing on the bridge that faces Half Dome.  We went for blue hour and stayed in that one location about an hour.  There is a large field right next to the bridge where you can see El Capitan in one direction and the upper and lower falls in another direction. We walked out into the field and stayed a couple of hours capturing different shots as the sun set and the stars appeared. Photographic opportunities are limitless in the park - for day and night shots.  Enjoy!

Yes - we got there as the sun was hitting half dome just right.

Thank you SO MUCH for sharing that info.  I am very much looking forward to the trip (going before Memorial Day to avoid the crowds though) I am planning to haul ALL my gear - well, nearly all.  We're doing 5 CA national parks plus Tahoe in a week, but 4 days in Tahoe will be the highlight, I expect.  I'm going to be learning some new gear setting up new custom settings and buttons and practicing shots just to be ready.
