I had some time to kill recently and this abandoned building in downtown Bakersfield caught my eye. The area is very sketchy--lots of drug abusers--so I had to be quick. Being 65 and alone made me cautious. Within moments, people who fitted the description seemed to come out of nowhere toward me, the guy with the "expensive" camera. I said hello cordially, grabbed my shots, told them to have a great day, and made my exit.
I plan to go back and drag my bestie Rafael (40) with me so I have eyes while I am not paying attention to anything but getting the photograph.
I had with me my trusty R100 and 28mm RF lens. I see this as a "sketchpad" image i.e. grab it for now and revisit it over time.
