Even as they fade...

and fall.  Camelias all over the south grow in amazing bundles everywhere.  Even as they fade, their colors beautify the landscape.

Photographically speaking, flowers in this state are more interesting to me.

This color contrast which you do not normally see in flowers with the reds and browns is a very nice study in colors.

I get that...it is eye catching and then you can spend time working with the composition that brings out the colors and contrasts.

We tend to photograph in living color. Nature doesn't always furnish living color as the season fades but colors fade only to be renewed the next season.

And it is these color transitions that are mostly unseen that can make the most interesting subjects.
