I have purchased a new Canon R40 scanner. I have had one that I purchased three years ago, but it was involved in that software problem and wouldn't work. My question is, do I need to remove the old scanner and Capture Touch from my computer before I install the new scanner?

Hi,
I would recommend removing the previous scanner before reinstalling the new one. This will insure it does not add an extra copy of the scanner onto your computer.
