imageFORMULA DR-C225 II - windows 11 will not recognize

I am running win 11 on a new surface pro.  It just wont recognize this scanner as a scanner. it kind of fought me on my old win10 laptop, but i eventually got that to work.  Not now on 11.

I currently have DR-C225II_Driver_V.1.1.12005.15001SP4_Windows installed.  I have tried a few others: DR-C225DriverV.1.1.12005.15001SP2, DR-C225_II_C225W_II_DriverforWindows_V.1.0.11404.8001_SP8. I have tried installing and repairing options, I have totally uninstalled and started over, and multiple restarts. And RepairReg.exe

I even tried using msdt.exe /id DeviceDiagnostic - "canon doesn't have a driver'. Letting that try to fix and restarting, didn't help either. I have tried new cables, including plugging it right into the computer instead of through my hub.

service are running

Its 2025, this shouldn't be so hard.  I'm still mad i have to replace a perfectly good MF4890DW because it won't play with win11.

Your Surface Pro has an ARM processor, as opposed to an Intel processor (CPU).

Canon DOES NOT as yet have ARM-compatible  drivers for their printers or scanners.  Windows 11 comes in two flavors....for Intel/AMD and for ARMs. The ARM version  has built-in drivers that provide functionality for printers and scanners, but not everything that you'd have with a Canon-written driver.

There are lots of posts on this forum from users encountering the same situation.  It is unfortunate that this incompatibility is not obvious until you get a new printer/scanner and try to set it up. It is also unfortunate that people are buying new computers and are not aware that something BIG has changed with the CPUs that are being used in new systems.

Thanks normadel.  So on an immediate basis, I am SOL.  Great.  Maybe Canon will come up with something.

You have to contact Canon about what their plans are. This forum is not a direct connection to Canon corporate.
