P-150 Scanner and Windows 11

My venerable P-150 scanner does not scan, and I suspect it is caused by a recent upgrade to Windows 11. I have reinstalled the Windows 10 drivers a couple of times to no avail. Any suggestions?

I have the same issue. Luckily, before upgrading and guided from previous experience of Windows updates, I decided to check driver compatibility for my peripherals before launching into upgrade frenzy.

Canon clearly indicate it is not supported under Windows 11
(Check "Operating System Compatibility" on
https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/imageformula-p-150-portable-scanner?tab=drivers )

Nonetheless, I contacted their support to gauge their appetite on the subject, here is the answer I got (extract):
"Due to a number of factors including design, requirements and age there is no driver suitable for the imageFORMULA P-150 and operating system (Windows 11). We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this has caused"

So pretty much a dead end. I have therefore decided to hang on to my scanner and to Windows 10 until the 14th of October 2025, which is the official date Microsoft have stated they will support it
(Check https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/products/windows-10-home-and-pro for details)

Update: so the odd thing is, I decided to upgrade my laptop to Windows11 22H2 anyway, conscious I was likely to lose the ability to use my P-150 (works great, but I use it less and less in my increasingly paperless world), and gave it a test. Well, to my surprise, the whole thing still works fine, Canon software and all, without any intervention after all. Go figure.

This is a rather Late reply, but only recently acquired a computer running Win 11 - and was also dismayed that my P-150 scanner was not recognized.   "SOLUTION" here - at least for time being: I ran the Canon P-150 Driver software in "Compatibility Mode" - using Windows 8 compatibility.

The specific zip file - downloaded from Canon in 2018 - is:  d1591mux_w_P150_v10SP5.zip
I Unzipped this, which created a Driver folder, then ran setup.exe using compatibility for Win 8.

The scanning program I use (PaperPort, v14.7), now recognizes the P-150 and successfully Scans documents using it.

Hopefully this approach will be of use to other owners of the P-150 (which still functions very well!).
