I have some old film negatives from the 1930s to late 1950s. The negative fit between the rails of the negative holder without the 35mm frame in place. Unfortunately, the software will NOT let me adjust the height / length of the scan area. Unfortunately, it still nips about a few millimeters from each edge.
So, will a newer version of the software allow more adjustments? Do I need the negative holder or select film to get a negative scanned? Give up?

You can try VueScan, but I have no idea if it supports film or negatives of any type.
