Hello Canon Community,
I have a Canon imageClass MF4890dw printer/scanner/fax for 8 or 10 years and it's worked great. I recently purchased a new iMac (27 inch 2019) running Sonoma 14.6.1. I have been able to get the printer working, but I'm having trouble with the scanner. I have downloaded the most recent scanner drivers (mac-scan-v21517-00) and installed it no problem. I then restarted the iMac as well as the scanner. I have also rebooted my router. When I open Canon MF Scan Utility I'm shown a pop up stating "No available scanner found. Follow the instructions in the User's Guide for the scanner driver to add the scanners you are using."
I have reviewed the user guide as well as the README file and it shows me that MF4800 Series* is supported. I have connected the printer via IP address and I have also connected the scanner to my iMac via USB. I have tried to add the scanner manually via IP address and I'm shown a pop up with a message stating "The specified scanner is not supported."
Am I missing something? I tried calling into the Canon support, but I was told that my model is no longer supported via phone support and only supported on the Canon website.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
