Canon Scanner 9950f colored lines in scans

I have a Canon 9950f scanner that has been working great for many years. I have used it off and on, sometimes going for years without using it. However, today when I tried to scan an image, it filled the image with rainbow-colored lines. The lines do not look like banding, but rather thin colored lines for various colors. I am using a Windows 10 machine. I am wondering if my sensor is bad. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The CanoScan 9950F is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

I have been using a Canon 9950F scanner for years and am very satisfied with its performance. However, the scanner is no longer being manufactured, and I need a replacement.

I have researched the available options and have found that there is no direct replacement for the 9950F. The closest equivalent is the Epson Perfection V600, a high-quality scanner with similar features.

I am reluctant to purchase an Epson scanner as I have been a loyal Canon customer for many years. However, I am open to considering other brands if there is a scanner that meets my needs.

I would appreciate your assistance in finding a suitable replacement scanner. My primary requirements are:

• High optical resolution (4800 dpi or higher)
• Support for 35mm and 120 film
• Dust and scratch removal software
• Ability to scan reflective material as well as film
