I just got CanoScan LiDE 400 and connected it to Macbook Pro M3 Max with Sequoia 15.4 and latest 2025 version of IJ Scan Utility Lite 4.1.2 for Mac. Software sucks. I attached the scanner and IJ Scan would not recognize the scanner. I had to manually add the scanner using Printer and Scanner and now only Image Capture app on mac (screenshot attached) allows me to scan images. WIth Canon IJ Scan Utility i get this error message:
"Cannot communicate with scanner for these reasons:
-Scanner is turned off.
-USB Cable is disconnected.....
Is the unit defective?
