CanoScan 9000F Can't scan slides: "Image size exceeds 10001x10001 pixels"

CanoScan 9000F,  Win 10/64 Pro 22H2.  32GB RAM

MPNav: mpnx_3_1win-3_15-ea23_2.exe
ScanGear for CanoScan 9000F 64-bit sd68-win-9000-f16.0.5-ea34.exe

Trying to scan slides at 9600 bpi, the reason I have this scanner.  Scan fails with: "Unable to scan. Image size exceeds 10001x10001 pixels. Reduce resolution or output size."  DUH.  Of course it exceeds 10K pixels, since a 35mm slide/neg is ~1.4" wide.  "Enable large image scans" is checked.

Using the Vuescan trial, I can scan to 12,744 x 8,640 Truecolor/48 bit tiff, so the scanner itself is OK. Is there a way to use this scanner at 9800 for transparancies?

Is the advertised 9600 bpi optical resolution faslse, or only for postage stamps?

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The CanoScan 9000F is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!
