Hello! I'm having an issue with connecting my xha1 camcorder to my computer. I'm using a USB to IEEE 4 pin Firewire adapter to connect to the camcorder.
Every time I connect the camera to my computer, it is not recognized. Even if I connect to another USB port, it still won't recognize the camera.
Do I need to use a proper adapter or give up?

Greetings,
Are you using something similar to this?
If so, it won't work. The PIN out on the cable is not correct. You will need something like this:

Hi, JesseR5!
So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which operating system is running on your computer (i.e. Windows or macOS, and which version thereof). That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!
If this is a time-sensitive matter, click HERE search our knowledge base or find additional support options HERE.
Thanks and have a great day!

Which adapter? AFAIK, there is no easy way to get from USB to firewire. Macs use thunderbolt->firewire.

Do I need that chipset for that firewire?

Something like the above is under $20. Windows includes a basic video editor (look in the Photos App) if you don't have something more robust.
