Hey everyone, I know it’s not smart to get it fixed, but I recently got a Canon XL two from a family member and I really wanna get it fixed. Can someone send me along the right path to send it to Canon with fully charged batteries it won’t power on. I’ve changed the little watch battery that’s about as much as I know to do.

Is the main battery charged or not? Do you have the battery charger?.
It sure is an impressive camera, but it's 21 years old. Canon won't fix it.Maybe someone else could (if it is broken....with only a dead battery it's impossible to tell)
Let's say you could get it working. What are you going to do with it? Transferring videos to a computer is problematic. Firewire connectivity and software to do the importing are two of the hurdles.

Yeah, I have a charger. The batteries are fully charged unfortunately. I want to use it just to give an extra retro touch in some videos I wanna make I have a captured device so I should be able to get it on any and offer footage on my computer. It will just take however long I recorded times two because I have to play it back to record it. but really I just wanna get it working.

The little "watch" battery in some digital cameras has nothing to do with powering on. It's only for maintaining the clock and possibly some settings while the main battery is out or run-down.
Good luck with it.
