Canon VIXIA HF R72 "Taking Photos" feature not working

Dear Canoncommunity,

I just got Canon VIXIA HR72, and I have been testing its features, but so far the taking photo feature does not work with me. I have followed the instructions in the manual in pp.54-55, and everything goes as those pages say, but when I go to the memory card or the built-in memory, I don't find the photos.. 

so I have been wondering if there is a specific setting that I need to make sure is on or off to be able to taking the photos.

When you are taking pictures did you see a green icon and did the ACCESS indicator flash indicating that the picture is being saved?
