I guess it is the machine. I know you said that you wanted to replace witha 9000 becuase of the ink you have, but before you make the decision look into the current rebates on the Pro-100. You can get one for under $100 from Amazon or B&H Photo after rebate. A great deal on an outstanding printer.

thanks for the tip but the rebates are only good if you buy certain other canon gear. I use nikon gear so that wont help but thanks anyway

Will the printer print any aize or any other items? Regular texr for instance?
Try deleting your print spooler. If the printer will print something, it is not the problem.

ok I checked the spool folder and it was clear. I tried to print text and that worked so I tried printing the orignal 11x14 that was giving me the problem and finally got an error message that told me what the problem is. it said the printer settings in the photo were not compatible with this version of CC so I deleted the photo and re-edited it and than sent it to the printer and it printed
my new printer is on the UPS truck. it is the 9000 markII so a nerer version of mine. dont know what the differences are between the two to make it worth the upgrade except for faster printing speed. do you know what the differences are?

The differences are small. But the 9000 and the 9500/9500 II are obsolute printers.
I have all three but now I now have and use the Pro-100. One big difference is the siftware that is accociated with each.
The older ones "work" with the older OS's but the Pro-100 is designed for newer OS's. BTW, they all take different cartridges!
The 9xxx can not be had locally here any longer.
