imagePROGRAF PRO-300 will not print

guidibird

I'm on macOS Sequoia 15.6.1, connected to the imagePROGRAF PRO-300 via USB, and I've just re-downloaded all the available drivers from https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/imageprograf-pro-300  – when I send a photo to print, the printing status bar in the printer window sweeps from right to left and back perpetually without printing anything.

The only way I can print is if I connect the printer using AirPrint which doesn't give me the options I need to achieve the quality I want.

Is there a known issue with macOS Sequoia that prevents the printer from connecting? This is driving me insane; I've wasted hours trying to connect to the printer.

I should mention that the printer used to work.  I don't know why it stopped.  It hasn't been moved or damaged in any way.  I do update the software on the Mac often.
