I have had my Prograf 1100 for a couple months. I'm not a power user. Probably 5 13x19 prints a week.
In the time I have had it, I have had several instances where the whole print looks great, but the very, VERY, last bit of the corner of the print doesn't finish. It has some tone, but it sort of peters out. If it's a blue sky, that 1/4" x 1/4" bit in the top left corner of the print is a partial blue and has lines and perhaps a touch of magenta in it.
I have contacted Canon about this before and they tell me the obvious: run a nozzle check. Even if it is clean, run a cleaning. As we all know, this costs a lot of money. And, the failed prints on fine art paper are $10 a pop.
So, any ideas of why this is happening?
And, Canon, your phone support system is shameful. The AI bot asks for the model of the printer, but it doesn't recognize the Prograf 1100. I have had operators who say they are aware of this. But nothing has been done. It wastes time. Then I get put on hold for over 30 minutes so speak to someone. It's not cool. And, it factors into what brand I tell my students and clients to purchase when getting their own hardware.
Thanks in advance for anyone's help.
