Hi guys,
I am moving to France and my furniture is being shipped in a 20-ft container. Is it OK to include my canon printer and take it with me to France?
And if so, what else do I need to know?
Thanks a lot.

I have a Pro 1000 and it is a great printer BUT per Canon do not try to move it....even in your office/home since a small amount of tilt will spill ink and mess it up big time. You have to pump all the ink out of the printer before moving it. There is a process right in the menu on the printer to do that. Believe it is under the maintenance drop down on the little screen on the printer. Basically it pumps all the ink out and as I recall reading it takes about 2 1/2 ink dump tanks to hold all the wasted ink. I haven't done it myself but some people have. It is quite a process so make sure you find out the entire procedure to avoid damaging the printer. You may want to contact Canon directly to see if there is any special treatment needed such as locking the print head in place, taping up various part so they don't flop around, etc.
Enjoy France! Someday I may get there.... I am in the US.
