Hey everyone,
I can't figure out why my Canon Pro-1000 is printing black and white photos (all photos for that matter) with such a noticeable magenta cast on my M4 Macbook Pro (Sequoia 15.3). I've spent the better half of a day researching and attempting to troubleshoot the issue - here are all the methods I've tried:
up-to-date Canon Drivers (29.1.0.0) instead of AirPrint
printing via USB instead of wireless (Bonjour)
avoiding double profiling (tried printing from Photoshop, Capture One, QImage, Professional Print & Layout)
trying different papers (tried Epson Cold Bright Rag and Canon Pro Luster)
trying different computers and OSes (macOS and Windows, both are still pink)
Nozzle Checks are superb and there is no "magentification" of neutral tones like there are in my photos
Color Calibration Test Print looks great
Inks swapped out, no errors
NOTES:
the only time I've gotten a B&W picture to render correctly in black and white is by printing an image from my phone via Apple's horrible print dialog through default options - when I set paper size, paper type it goes back to printing with a magenta cast.
There are probably a few other common fixes I've tried that I've forgotten but please let me know if anyone has any idea on how I can get this thing to start printing correctly. It would be very much appreciated!

I just bought the printer from friend and drove it home. We did NOT use transportation mode in order to save ink and we thought it would be pretty level the whole way, but maybe not.
Interestingly enough, another friend has the same printer and I printed the same way on his printer: perfect prints, no cast.
We think it’s a hardware issue. I printed a calibration sheet via the UI and everything is the same BESIDES the second gray row from the top (beside the blue row). His is gray, mine is magenta. Seeing as how the UI doesn’t take into account driver profiles, something is wrong with the internals. I’ve just initiated a deep clean, so we’ll see if that helps at all.

Hi cyanotypes,
Please print another nozzle check and then please attach a picture or scan of the latest nozzle check that you printed.
To do this, please follow these steps:
1. Make sure that the power is turned on to your imagePROGRAF PRO-1000.
2. Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the rear tray.
3. After inserting the paper into the machine, the paper information registration screen is displayed on the touch screen. Select A4 or Letter for Page size and Plain paper for Type, then tap Register. If a message is displayed on the screen, follow the directions in the message to complete registration.
4. Holding both sides of the paper output tray, gently open it.
5. Extend the paper output support..
6. Use the down arrow to select Maintenance and press OK.
7. Select Print nozzle check pattern and press OK.
8. Select Yes and press OK.

Solved! Ended up being an ink contamination (magenta-contaminated PGY). I printed about 40+ grey ink purge pages and the contamination has begun to clear. Canon phone support was pretty helpful even though this was a used purchase. Hope this helps anyone who encounters a similar issue.
