I recently bought a pro 1100 and I have been unable to get it to print anything other than the test paper that came with it. I have Hahnemuhle A2 and A4 photograph high gloss baryta and no matter what setting I enter it throws error 1006 and says there is no paper recognized.
Also, is it true that every time I want to print I have to manually change the setting on the printer itself? The printer cost almost $1,5000 and it can’t recognize the paper size and weight? Even when you enter the paper size into the print software? How can this be true? I want to load my image select the size and then just print.
I’ve also gone to the Hahnemuhle website and downloaded the drivers and I “think” they are installed? Has anyone ever come across their printer not being able to recognize there is paper in the tray?

I am having the same issue, the manual tray does not work, I get either a no paper error, or size error and the one that did print (that was a Canon paper) printed skewed. It is very frustrating. No different papers work and I have tried several. the top tray seems to work okay when you get everything it wants to match with either Lightroom or Canon's PPL software. It prints exceptionally when it prints. My main problem is the manual feed, but it does also seem redundant to have to enter paper type and size on both the print dialog and on the printer. It could be downloaded from dialog to printer and save a step or two.

I was able to finally get this to work by deleting all canon software and reinstalling. Then I used media configuration tool to install the HFA drivers from the Hahnemueller website. After the wipe it does see the HFA profile in print center, and as long as you select the correct paper size in print& layout software it will print fine. Good luck!

What ended up working for me was manually choosing the paper source. Auto-select can't seem to detect which tray has paper.
In case you don't know which is which, Top Tray is the main one, Multi Function Tray is the manual one on the back.
