Pro-1000 Ink Puddles

I'm not sure if "puddles" is the proper term, but I'm at a loss to identify a better descriptor.

Sometimes—but not every time—black ink puddles appear in the middle of a print. They range in size, from 1/4" to 1/2", but are always and parallel to the path of the print head's travel. If you loo closely at the attachment, you can see that these are not simply streaks of black ink, but literal puddles that are raised above the surface of the paper.

The ink is very dark and looks black, but I cannot confirm which cartridge it is.

I've performed nozzle check patterns, alignment, and cleaned the print head. After cleaning, the problem stops for a few prints, but eventually returns. I just printed two 13x19" sheets, and 75% of the way through the second sheet, the problem returned.

I'm using genuine Canon ink, on Canon Pro Luster paper. For what it is worth, the problem has never occurred while printing alignment/nozzle check patterns. Only when using Pro Luster. It has occurred while using different sizes of Pro Luster (8.5x11" and 13x19").

It is quite frustrating, and increasingly expensive and wasteful, to have prints destroyed. I have searched here and the web but have not found reports of similar problems. However, since it is a bit difficult to describe, perhaps I've missed them if they exist.

Assistance will be greatly appreciated, as I just can't perform any additional print jobs until this is resolved.

Thank you in advance.
