Pixma pro-100 inks, can I over ride the program and use inks for i9900?

I bought a set of inks for my i9900 just before it died. I then purchased a Pixma Pro-100. The cartridges are the same size and fit the new printer, but a message says something to the effect that it doesn't recognize the cartridge. I'm wondering if any tech savvy person has managed to over ride this problem. Ink's not cheap and I've got a bunch of it.

Hi sidbobk,
The inks for the i9900 are not compatible with the PIXMA PRO-100, and we do not have a method for allowing the printer to accept the i9900 inks.

I didn't think so. But is there something different though in , say, the i9900 magenta and the Pixma pro 100 magenta?

Maybe you could sell them on eBay?

Don't sell them on eBay!
