Pixma Pro-100 Plain Paper Pulling Many Pages

maddic
Apprentice

I have had my printer for over a year, and recently when printing on any plain stock (currently HP multipurpose 22lb 8.5x11), the machine prints the page just fine, but pulls along 4-5 blank pages with each printed page. It happens on full color or balck and white text and never jams, it just spills all over the floor. This doesn't happen with photo stock.

I have run "roller cleaning a few times," makes no difference.

Thanks!

You may need to physically clean the rollers.  You say all you run through it is that 22lb HP paper?  I wouldn't think that woud be of any concern to the rollers.

I have cleaned the top roller, can't seem to figure out how to do a fair job with the lower.

It may also be that the paper has absorbed moisture from the air by sitting out and thus 'sticks.'

Does this happen with a freshly opened batch?

Yes, fresch cello-wrapped paper.

Try a different brand of 22lb paper.

Thank you, but it's the 4th brand of plain paper.  Is there a way to get inside and see if something is stuck?

I would guess, yes, but I don't know how or exactly what you should look for.  Mine does not do that so I have no practical experience with your issue.
