On my 1 month old printer ink is bleeding onto the black foam strip. 3 stripes on the left side and 1 stripe on the right.

What does this mean?

What do suggest I do?

Thank you.

Thank you for your suggestion. I had already registered product. I called support and they said the ink strips on the black foam strip was OK. Hope there'll be no problem in the future. Richard

Personally I would immediately ensure I had an account and registered the product at https://www.usa.canon.com/contact-us/support and call  the phone # from that page or 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666).

>> Owns/Owned both Canon EOS mirrorless full-frame and APS-C cameras and associated RF, RF-S and EF adapted lenses - inventory tends to change on short notice. Same for flashes, tripods, bags, straps, etc.
Plus>> Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1100 Printer
>>The opinions and assistance are my own. Please don't blame Canon for any mistakes on my part.

Cotton balls and forceps are great for absorbing excessive ink.

I wonder why no one said that it's simple can be overspray because of borderless printing. Even if you don't do borderless often, small bits can be there still.
