PRO-100. "Gy" ink stopped printing.

I have a Pro-100. My photo prints looked wrong so I did a test print and notice the "Gy" (gray?) ink was entirely missing from the print. I did a basic cleaning of the heads and the Gy mostly came back with a few lines missing. I did another basic cleaning and it looked about the same. I did a deep cleaning and in the next test print, the Gy was gone again. At this point I'm going to stop cleaning, as I have used $20 dollars or so of ink just from cleaning.

Any thoughts about what could be wrong?

Sounds like a head clog or possibly a head failure. You could try the various head cleaning tips that folks have posted on this forum. One was just recently posted for a Pro-10. Also many YouTube videos.
