PIXMA PRO-200 paper not feeding

When trying to print from my brand new Pixma Pro-200, I repeatedly get message to load paper even though it is loaded. I've tried letter sized plain paper and 19 x 13 photo paper. The letter paper printed twice out of perhaps a half dozen tries. I've read on this forum that cleaning the rollers might help. I don't know how to do that, but also since it is brand new, why would they need cleaning?

Hi,

Please click HERE for the steps to perform a roller cleaning. If the paper still wont feed, the real time feedback of live technical support would be very beneficial in this case. I recommend reaching out to Canon support for this issue. You will need to register your Canon gear HERE to access additional support options.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Sorry to say, I have always had the same problem. The printer is brilliant in terms of output but the pickup mechanism is terrible and has been since day one. It's just badly designed so the 2 white plastic stop clips seem to engage too early and prevent the paper ever reaching the rubber pick up roller correctly.

It means manually standing over the printer and feeding the paper in EVERY time. I'm using Canon's very expensive Platinum Pro and A3 or A4 makes not the slightest difference. Very disappointing for what is a very expensive device.

By contrast my Kodak i400 scanner I use at work is ancient (10 years old +), has scanned tens of 000s of pages and hardly ever misses a beat. Good design v bad design.

Thanks. I figured it out. Wrong setting for paper size.

Same issue here. Correct paper setting but top load feeder doesn’t work. Using canon museum etching paper (heavy art paper). From day one, it never recognized the paper if there was just one sheet but it used to work if there were two sheets. Now no matter how many sheets I place (1 or 20) it doesn’t see the paper. Very frustrating. But I was glad to see that the rear manual feed was far more accurate in left - right placement and so far at least, 100% reliable.
