PIXMA PRO-100 - Color not matching screen

KristiS
Contributor

Hi all! I have a PRO-100 that I've had for many years. This one document I'm trying to print refuses to print correctly. (Windows 11 - Microsoft WORD). This is being printed on plain paper. I've tried the "clogged head" test page and it comes out fine. Any suggestions? This picture is a comparison taken with my phone so the quality isn't great, but you get the idea of what is happening. I am not very tech savvy, so be gentle.

Thanks for any help!

Is this the only photo that has a problem?

Does it print correctly in other software like the Windows Photo app?

The magenta cast could be a color management issue.

It prints correctly from Window Photos. I did try to print something from Adobe and it did the same thing. It's like it doesn't recognize the cyan colors when printing from those programs.

Can you post a screenshot of your print settings in Adobe?

First, thank you for your help!!!

These are the 3 tabs I have. Note that I have not changed ANYTHING except plain/photo paper pulldown, depending on the project I'm printing, so unless something changed in an update that I'm unaware of...

This is the Canon printer driver. How are you adjusting the settings in the Adobe software. Was there a recent Adobe update?

As far as I know, yes. This is the current Canon driver. When in Adobe, I hit print, this comes up, I select the proper printing device (Canon), and it gives me the above. Like I said, I've never changed anything except the type of paper I'm using (ie, photo vs plain). Did Adobe update? I have no idea....

Again, I absolutely appreciate you trying to help me! I'm sorry I can't help you more.

I've not typically used plain paper but anytime I would print a photo on photo paper I would choose the "Photo Printing" option on the "Quick Settings" tab and "High" quality on the "Main" tab. That said, I cannot understand the magenta tint and worry that these changes may not fix that.  You might try lying to the printer and tell it you are using glossy photo paper and see if that helps as well.  I recall another poster recently having color issues with the rear tray of their printer.  If you can use the top tray that might be something to try as well.

Since CMYK uses magenta and cyan to make blue and you seem to have magenta, perhaps you should look into the cyan.  Would you please also post your Maintenance tab?
