PIXMA PRO 100 ARRIVED. COMPUTER COULD NOT DETECT PRINTER

VITRUVIUSMAN
Contributor

TROUBLE SHOOTING STEPS TAKEN:

1) Downloaded the driver from CANON

2) Also tried the CD installation

3) Rebooted computer each time

3) Checked Devise Manager- PRO-`100 was not listed

4) Checked all USB ports were active/working fine.

Computer could not detect printer. I have 3 other canon printers all work fine

CANON support could not figure out way, sending a replacement, thinking something is wrong with the printer circuit board

Does anyone else have a clue as to what could be blocking this?

New printer arrives in a 3 days. We will see if I have a problem installing then.

Connecting the printer to another computer (MAC or PC)  would have been my next step.

Sounds like you are trying to connect directly via USB, so I might have tried another cable as well before assuming the printer was defective.

If you tried these things we wouldn't know as they were not listed in your troubleshooting steps.

Yes, good point. I also did try a different USB cable... no dice...no detection. Canon will send a replacement, should arrive tomorrow or day after.  I will let you know
