I recently upgraded my photo printer from a Canon Pixma Pro-100 to the Canon imagePROGAF Pro-310. All is working well except for printing 13" X 19", A3+ paper size from the top feed using Lightroom Classic. That paper size and the Lightroom Classic print module will only print successfully using the rear manual feed. The error code I receive is (4104) which displays in both the computer print software and printer control panel. All other paper sizes work fine. Thru troubleshooting with Canon tech support the same A3+ paper size will print successfully from the top feed using Canon Professional Print and Layout software.
I spent over 1 1/2 hours on two separate calls with Canon Support, they were unable to resolve this after reviewing all my software and printer settings including the disabling of all form error detection features.
Clearly, I have workarounds available to me for 13" X 19" paper size by either using the manual feed while printing from Lightroom or the Canon print software. However, I do prefer Lightroom Classic's Print module to the Canon program. Perhaps I'll find Canon PPL beneficial once I get more experience with it. Just seems disappointing that a new $900 printer with latest technology would have this shortcoming and I would prefer using the top feed for all paper sizes just as I did with the previous Pixma-Pro 100.
If anyone has had this same problem and/or has the fix, I would appreciate your sharing with me.
Here is a summary of the pertinent facts and troubleshooting performed to date:
-Error code 4104 appears on computer print dialog box, printer control panel also lists 4104 with instructions to reset computer print settings with reset button, check the settings in the print program and rerun. 4104 means wrong form selected in print settings and/or paper not loaded correctly. Neither condition is the cause.
-Printer firmware is up to date. I subscribe to the Adobe Photographer's plan, Lightroom is up to date. OS is Windows 11 and is up to date.
-In LR Print Module, problem appears only with A3+ 13" X 19" paper with either A3+ selected or 13x19 Super B. The Red River Artic Polar Luster 75 lb. and Polar Matte 60 lb. papers I use have been confirmed by Canon as acceptable paper stock for top feed. The same form will print in Lightroom using the manual feed, with the only setting change in the printer (Printing Preferences) menu being the change in (Paper Source).
-A3+ form fails with both borderless option set to on or off.
-Tested with Paper Mismatch Detection enabled/disabled.
- Form setting on printer control panel screen set at (A3+) or (Any Size). Same result, fails using top feed, works with manual feed, (Lightroom Classic only). Canon PPL with form A3+ works fine whether selecting Top or Rear Manual feeds as paper source.

Pretty weak i'm having the exact same problem with a brand new 310 seems this is a long standing issue amongst these models with A3+. FML

Try doing a firmware update. About 2 months ago I received notice of a firmware update, after the update I tried it and all works just fine.

It's updated to the latest firmware version 2.020 running on Mac OS Sequoia 15.6.1 issue still persists specifically for printing A3+ 13-19".

Sorry to hear that. My system is Windows 11, possibly there is some other issue going on. All I can confirm is that firmware update resolved my issue, possibly a Lightroom update might have had something to do with it. In the interim a suggestion from another group worked, by creating a custom form, same size 13 x 19 for all of my papers, luster and matte, that enabled printing from Lightroom using the top feed. After the firmware update, a couple weeks later I thought perhaps I should try the standard process and it worked. Hope that helps. Merry Christmas!

I bought my Pro-310 a few weeks ago and have been printing successfully with Lightroom Classic on 13x19 paper. Until today. Now it won't print from Lightroom or Photoshop. After finding your thread, I went back and tried the Cannon Professional Print & Layout software and it printed. I went back and reset everything I could find to defaults and still won't print from LRC - same exact errors as you were getting......... Any resolution for you?

If your printer firmware is up to date, try creating a custom 13X19 form. Early on that was a suggestion I received from my post on the KelbyOne community page. That was a succesfull work around until Pro 310 firmware update fixed my problem. Been working fine ever since.

Larry - Please explain how to create a custom 13x19 form. Is this in the LRC print module? Thanks for following up with me. And my printer is on the latest firmware. I also tried the old "turn it off and back on" method that did nothing.

Click (ADD) under basic settings in Lightroom dialog and create a custom form then the size form 13x19.
